The cabin as a point of immersion. A space for reflection and observation. Accessible and left open, between sculpture and architecture, this piece interrogates the artist’s role and the notion of Giving. Located on top of a pile of stones, vestige of the trenches of the 1914 war, or waste from the quarry further down, it is set in dialogue with the landscape and its history.

The piece is offered to everyone, and can be visited unlimitedly. It comes with a printed edition. For the exhibition, a life-sized photograph shot from within the cabin is pasted up against one of the gallery walls. Moreover, a soundtrack is broadcasted in a loop. It renders the sounds of nature around, and the exchanges with the inhabitants who welcomed us during the construction of the piece in the hamlet of Le Puid.

La cabane comme point d’immersion, espace de réflexion et d’observation. Accessible et ouverte, entre sculpture et architecture, elle interroge le rôle de l’artiste et la notion de don. Son emplacement, au sommet d’un amas de pierres, vestiges d’une tranchée de la guerre de 1914 ou rebuts de la carrière en contrebas, la positionne dans un dialogue avec le paysage et son histoire.

La pièce peut être visitée à volonté. Elle s’accompagne d’une édition, qui peut-être complétée par un agrandissement photographique installé directement sur le mur. Par ailleurs, une bande son est diffusée en boucle, restituant les sons et échanges ayant accompagné la réalisation de la pièce au Puid.
